CREMATION COSTS

SIMPLE BASIC CREMATION (see option "B")

Direct cremation is the disposition of the body by cremation, without embalming, formal viewing or ceremony. Our charges include:

• The basic services of the funeral director and staff
  • This includes, but is not limited to availability of staff 24 hours a day, staff and facilities to respond to initial requests for services, minimum preparation of the deceased with a positive identification system, consultation with responsible party to determine services desired. Coordinating service plans with crematory and/or other parties involved in final disposition of the deceased. Filing of death certificate and required permits with the Oregon Health Department.
• Consultation time with our staff as necessary in our offices, over the phone or email
• Transportation of the deceased by our staff to our crematory facility within our service area (Multnomah, Washington & Clackamas Counties).  There may be additional transport charges beyond our service area *Does not include additional transportation costs which may be at the request of the Medical Examiners office.
• Minimum preparation of the deceased with a positive identification system
• Filing of Oregon death certificate and necessary permits 
• Assistance with filing for benefits through Social Security and the Veterans Administration 
• Use of facilities by refrigeration and sheltered care (eliminates costly embalming)
• The actual process of cremation*(see below)
• Minimal transport urn for the ashes
• Return of ashes to you at our office or crematory generally within 5-7 days
